Main Bath Remodel - Minocqua, WI

One room that always seems to wear more than others is certainly the Bathroom! Between family members and guests, this room is used quite frequently and serves many purposes throughout the day.

For this remodel, our client was in desperate need of recommendations for a Main Bathroom Refresh. Since the bathroom is frequently used, they requested that we keep the construction to a minimum and keep the footprint of the space as it existed. Our client discussed their goals for the remodel which included maximizing the space to its fullest extent, creating an open appeal, replacing the existing tub module with a curbless shower, and designing with a Modern Farmhouse style in mind.

After taking pictures and dimensions of the space, we got to the drawing table! To align with all the client’s goals, we removed the built-in closet, tub module, cabinetry, and all existing flooring.

Main Bath Proposed Plan - Minocqua, WI

To create an open space and maximize storage, we designed a walk-in shower with a decorative glass enclosure. This element opened the area immensely and allowed the eye to see more of the available space. Removing the existing closet enabled us to replace the crammed area with a beautiful, and much larger, built-in Linen Cabinet finished with a gorgeous crown molding at the top. Additionally, we installed a vanity that allotted plenty of room for two sinks, storage space, and under-cabinet storage. This vanity design compels the area to feel more spacious as it provides more dimension and negative space for the eye to see. In comparison, using a standard vanity cabinet (being just a double door, 1 drawer, floor to countertop cabinet) would make the space feel bulky and visually heavy making it feel crowded and not spacious at all.

Once our Floor Plan was approved, we moved forward with the Modern Farmhouse by selecting tile finishes and plumbing fixtures. Matte Black has become quite the staple for plumbing finishes and provides the modern look we were looking for. When bold black plumbing finishes are paired with warm wood tones, natural stone countertops, and warm paint colors, it creates a beautiful balance that is frequently found when designing with a Modern Farmhouse Inspiration.

Our team was able to source the perfect finishes for this project and contacted our trusted contractors to start the Demo and Installation phase!
